Chairman Dr Katherine Reid has issued the following statement:
Queen Elizabeth II was the epitome of service and duty, to this country and a great many others across the globe.
On behalf of the members of the Midlothian Conservative and Unionist Association, I wish to convey our most heartfelt condolences to His Majesty the King and the rest of the Royal Family.
Her Late Majesty held Scotland and its people close to her heart. As we mourn, we must cherish her reign, and the dutiful example she set as we serve our communities. She leaves an indelible mark on the people of the nation, through her warmth, dedication and unyielding determination to continue.
But, as we mourn the late Sovereign, we must also turn towards her successor.
We offer our support to His Majesty the King as he undertakes the most important of tasks and pledge our allegiance to him,
