Scottish Conservative and Unionist MSP Jeremy Balfour for Lothian has warmly welcomed UK Government funding for grassroots football facilities in the area.
Jeremy Balfour’s call comes after £2m worth of funding from the UK Government was awarded to 18 projects across Scotland.
In East Lothian the UK Government has awarded £50,000 to help improve Pinkie Playing Fields.
Jeremy Balfour says that this is a perfect example of the UK Government delivering for the Lothians and that physical activity is vital as we recover from the pandemic.
Scottish Conservative and Unionist MSP Jeremy Balfour said: “This funding from the UK Government is absolutely fantastic news for the Lothians.
“These grassroots football facilities are so important for the community and this will be such a boost to them.
“As we recover from the pandemic, physical activity will be crucial in rebuilding our communities in the Lothians and I know this money from the UK Government will be put to great use.
“Many local facilities in the Lothians have been lost due to SNP savage funding cuts in recent years so it is great to see the UK Government step up and give this funding at this time.”
